NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF SAINT VINCENT AND GRENADINES PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

Margaret Hughes Ferrari, the new Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, today presented her credentials to Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Ferrari had been a full partner in the law firm of Hughes and Cummings since 1990. From 1967 to 1990, she was Secretary and Legal Executive at the same firm.
Among her other activities, Ms. Ferrari served as Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Saint Vincent Cooperative Bank Limited, as well as Director of Bottlers Limited (a bottling company in Saint Vincent). Since 1998, she has been the President of the Bar Association of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. In addition, she was Secretary of the Saint Vincent Lawn Tennis Association from 1970 to 1985.
Ms. Ferrari studied as an external student with the University of London and earned her Bachelor of Laws degree in 1989. She was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in July 1990.
Born on 1 January 1948, Ms. Ferrari is married with three children.
