NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN AUGUST

In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the new Chairmen of the United Nations security bodies for August:

Security Council

Hasmy Agam (Malaysia) succeeds M. Patricia Durrant (Jamaica) as President of the Security Council

Military Staff Committee

Lieutenant General Anatoly I. Meleshkov (Russian Federation) succeeds Major General Jean-François Louvion (France) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
