SECRETARY-GENERAL DEPLORES TERRORIST ACTS IN SPAIN

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for Secretary- General Kofi Annan:

The Secretary-General strongly deplores the recent terrorist acts in Spain and stresses that the only way to resolve grievances is to abjure violence and seek solutions by peaceful means. He joins the Spanish people in calling for an end to all such terrorism.
