CORRECTION

On page 8 of Press Release GA/9676 issued 6 December, the first complete paragraph, concluding the statement of ION BOTNARU (Republic of Moldova), should read as follows:

In many of the newly independent States of the former Soviet Union, conflicts undermined nation-building efforts and provided opportunities for manipulation by outside parties. United Nations agencies and OSCE missions could and should discover new areas of cooperation to facilitate the settlements of those “frozen conflicts”. An increased and continuing cooperation between the two organizations was particularly needed in the eastern part of his country; there had been no tangible progress in resolving the problems there. All capabilities of the two organizations must be used decisively, and not be hindered by concerns over the so-called division of labour.
