NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS UN CORRESPONDENTS ASSOCIATION ACCEPTING ENTRIES

FOR 1999 EXCELLENCE IN UN REPORTING AWARDS

The United Nations Correspondents Association (UNCA) is accepting entries for its 1999 awards for excellence in United Nations reporting, which will be given out at its annual dinner dance in October.

The competition is open to newspapers, magazines, radio and television worldwide. All eligible entries must have been published or aired between July 1998 and July 1999. The annual awards, including one for best cartoonist, are given for distinguished examples of reporting on the United Nations or on issues relating to the United Nations. The winners will receive cash prizes. Last year's entries came from over 30 countries in 10 different languages, and were in radio, television and print form.

Entries must be submitted to the Secretary, UNCA Awards, P.O. Box 4093, New York, New York 10163-4093. The deadline is 15 September.
