SECRETARY-GENERAL WELCOMES NEW SPIRIT OF UNDERSTANDING AND RECONCILIATION IN RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ARGENTINA AND UNITED KINGDOM

19990528 The following statement was issued today by the Office of the Spokesman for Secretary-General Kofi Annan:

The Secretary-General welcomes the new spirit of understanding and reconciliation in the relationship between Argentina and the United Kingdom, which was manifest at their recent meeting in London. He is pleased that both Governments have decided to continue to work together on issues of common interest.
