NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN JUNE

19990528 In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the new Chairmen of the United Nations security bodies for June:

Security Council

Baboucarr-Blaise I. Jagne (Gambia) succeeds Denis Dangue Rewaka (Gabon) as President of the Security Council:

Military Staff Committee

Major General Charles G.C. Vyvyan (United Kingdom) succeeds Lieutenant General Anatoliy I. Meleshkov (Russian Federation) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
