NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN APRIL

19990331 In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the new Chairmen of the United Nations security bodies for April:

Security Council

Alain Dejammet (France) succeeds Qin Huasun (China) as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Major General Jean-François Louvion (France) succeeds Major General Chen Fuyuan (China) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
