NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN MARCH

19990226 In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the new Chairmen of the United Nations security bodies for March:

Security Council

Qin Huasun (China) succeeds Robert R. Fowler (Canada) as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Major General Chen Fuyuan succeeds Lieutenant General Edward G. Anderson III (United States) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
