UN INFORMATION IN GERMAN LANGUAGE ON INTERNET AS UNIC BONN LAUNCHES NEW HOMEPAGE ON WORLD WIDE WEB
19981210 (Delayed in transmission.)BONN, 9 December (UN Information Centre) - On 10 December, the fiftieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Bonn will launch its new German-language homepage on the World Wide Web at http://www.uno.de.
In addition to highlights of United Nations news and more detailed press releases, the new site will feature information on United Nations programmes and agencies based in Germany; general information on the United Nations system; and background information on United Nations activities in areas such as human rights, drug abuse control and the environment. It will also provide access to official documents, texts of speeches and publications, as well as to a broad spectrum of other United Nations information tools available on the Internet.
Direct links connect to the United Nations homepage on the World Wide Web and to numerous United Nations offices, programmes and activities, providing quick access to detailed information on various fields, to statistical data, cartographic material and audio-visual services. Further links offer easy access to other relevant sources of information, including the web sites of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany and the German United Nations Association.
