NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN NOVEMBER

19981030 In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the new Chairmen of the United Nations security bodies for November:

Security Council

A. Peter Burleigh (United States) succeeds Sir Jeremy Greenstock (United Kingdom) as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Brigadier General Jean-François Louvion (France) succeeds Major General Chen Fuyuan (China) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
