GENDER INITIATIVES AT UNITED NATIONS FALL SHORT DUE TO LACK OF COMMITMENT AT MANAGEMENT LEVEL, ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL TOLD CORRECTION

19980717

On page 12 of Press Release ECOSOC/5769 of 9 July 1998, the first complete paragraph (beginning, "Unemployment hit women harder than men ...") was wrongly attributed to the representative of Kazakhstan.

As indicated on page 7 of the same press release, that paragraph was part of the summary of the intervention by the representative of Colombia.
