FIFTH COMMITTEE BEGINS CONSIDERING FINANCING OF PEACEKEEPING OPERATIONS CORRECTION

On the first page of Press Release GA/AB/3228 of 18 May 1998, the last sentence of the fourth paragraph, attributed to the representative of Israel, should read as follows:

"Defensive military operations against terrorists, who at that time had shamelessly used a UNIFIL outpost as cover for their provocative attacks, had been as justified and necessary then as they continued to be today."

The same sentence should also replace the second sentence of the third paragraph on page 4 of the same press release.
