NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS PRESIDENT OF INDIA TO VISIT HEADQUARTERS ON MONDAY, 27 APRIL

The President of India, K. R. Narayanan, will visit Headquarters on Monday, 27 April, to confer with Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

President Narayanan and his party will arrive at 5 p.m. at the Secretariat entrance, where he will be received by the Secretary-General. Escorted by the Chief of Protocol, they will proceed by special elevator to the thirty-eighth floor, where the President will confer with the Secretary- General in his office.

Following their meeting, the President, accompanied by the Secretary- General and escorted by the Chief of Protocol, will proceed to the elevators, where the Secretary-General will take his leave.

The President will then be escorted by the Chief of Protocol by special elevator to the first floor, where he will leave Headquarters by the Secretariat entrance.
