NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN MARCH

19980227 In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the new Chairmen of the United Nations security bodies for March:

Security Council

Abdoulie Momodou Sallah (Gambia) succeeds Denis Dangue Rewaka (Gabon) as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Major-General Charles G.C. Vyvyan (United Kingdom) succeeds Major- General Aleksandr N. Tishchenko (Russian Federation) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
