SECRETARY-GENERAL CONGRATULATES GLAFLOS CLERIDES ON HIS RE-ELECTION AS PRESIDENT OF CYPRUS

The Secretary-General conveys his warm congratulations to Glafcos Clerides on his re-election as President of the Republic of Cyprus

The Secretary-General takes this opportunity to wish Mr. Clerides success and to reaffirm his commitment to continuing his good offices mission in search of a comprehensive and lasting peace on Cyprus. He intends to press forward with the activities of his Special Adviser, Diego Cordovez, in the near future to revitalize the process of negotiations.
