CONSIDERATION OF UN REFORM PROPOSALS SHOULD BE COMPLETED SWIFTLY, SECRETARY-GENERAL SAYS IN PRESENTING BUDGET TO FIFTH COMMITTEE CORRECTION

In Press Release GA/AB/3174 of 22 October, the following sentence should be added to the end of the penultimate paragraph on page 6:

"The narratives of two sections -- on human rights and public information -- were not approved due to the lack of consensus."

The last paragraph on page 6 should read:

"He said the CPC considered the Secretary-General's report on the programmatic and financial consequences of his reform proposals at its resumed session earlier this month. The report on that session would be issued soon as Part II of the current CPC report, and would be presented to the Fifth Committee at a later date."

The fourth complete paragraph on page 1a should read:

"During the discussion, the Vice-Chairman of the Committee for Programme and Coordination (CPC), Anuson Chinvanno (Thailand), said at its resumed meeting earlier this month, the CPC considered the Secretary-General's report on the programmatic and financial consequences of his reform proposals. Its report on that session would be issued soon and would be presented to the Fifth Committee at a later date."
