NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS KING AND QUEEN OF SWAZILAND TO VISIT HEADQUARTERS

19970925 King Mswati III of Swaziland will visit United Nations Headquarters on Friday, 26 September, to address the General Assembly and confer with Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

At 9:25 a.m., the King and Queen and their party will arrive at the Delegates Entrance, where they will be received by the Secretary-General and Mrs. Annan. The King and Queen will then be escorted to the second floor, where King Mswati and the Secretary-General will proceed to room GA-200, while the Queen and Mrs. Annan will be escorted to the East Foyer.

At 9:30 a.m., King Mswati III will confer with the Secretary-General in his office. He will then be escorted to the West Foyer to wait for the time of his address to the Assembly. Shortly before his address, the Queen and Mrs. Annan will be escorted to their seats in the General Assembly Hall.

Following his speech, King Mswati, accompanied by the Secretary-General and the President of the Assembly, will proceed to room GA-200, where they will be joined by the Queen and Mrs. Annan. The Assembly President, the Secretary-General and Mrs. Annan will then take their leave.

The King and Queen will then be escorted to the first floor to leave Headquarters by the Delegates Entrance.
