NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS PRESIDENT OF ZIMBABWE TO VISIT HEADQUARTERS ON 22 AND 24 SEPTEMBER

The President of Zimbabwe, Robert G. Mugabe, will visit Headquarters on Monday, 22 September, to attend a luncheon hosted by the Secretary-General, and on Wednesday, 24 September, to address the General Assembly.

On 22 September, the President will arrive at the Delegates Entrance at 12:54 p.m., where he will be received by the Secretary-General. The President will then be escorted by the Chief of Protocol to the Second Floor and to the West Foyer to join other heads of State and government, who will attend a luncheon hosted by the Secretary-General in their honour.

The President, accompanied by the Secretary-General and escorted by the Chief of Protocol, will then proceed to the North Lounge where lunch will be served.

The luncheon will conclude at 2:50 p.m., and the President will depart Headquarters by the Delegates Entrance.

President Mugabe will return to Headquarters on Wednesday, 24 September. He will arrive at 9:55 a.m. through the Delegates Entrance where he will be received by the Chief of Protocol. The President will proceed to the Second Floor, to room GA-200.

At the invitation of the President of the General Assembly, President Mugabe will enter the General Assembly Hall and be seated in the heads of State chair. He will then address the Assembly.

After his speech, Mr. Mugabe, accompanied by the President of the General Assembly and the Secretary-General, will proceed to room GA-200. At this point, they will take leave of President Mugabe, who will depart from Headquarters through the Delegates Entrance.
