NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS PRESIDENT OF FORMER YUGOSLAV REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA TO VISIT HEADQUARTERS ON 22 AND 24 SEPTEMBER

Kiro Gligorov, President of The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, will visit Headquarters on Monday and Wednesday, 22 and 24 September, respectively, to address the General Assembly and confer with Secretary- General Kofi Annan.

On Monday, 22 September, at 12:48 p.m., the President and his party will arrive at the Delegates Entrance, where he will be received by the Secretary- General. He will then be escorted to the West Foyer to join the other heads of State and government who will attend the 1:30 p.m. luncheon hosted by the Secretary-General in their honour.

Following the luncheon, which is to end at 2:50 p.m., the President will leave Headquarters by the Delegates Entrance.

On Wednesday, 24 September, at 9:50 a.m., President Gligorov and his party will arrive at the Delegates Entrance. He will be escorted by the Chief of Protocol to the West Foyer to wait until the time of his speech. He will then be escorted into the General Assembly Hall and deliver his address.

Following his speech, at 12:35 p.m., President Gligorov will proceed to the office of the Secretary-General in room GA-200 where he will confer with Secretary-General Kofi Annan. President Gligorov will also pay a courtesy call to the President of the General Assembly in room GA-200.

President Gligorov will then leave Headquarters by the Delegates Entrance.
