NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS PRESIDENT OF PARAGUAY TO VISIT HEADQUARTERS ON 22 SEPTEMBER

The President of Paraguay, Juan Carlos Wasmosy, will visit United Nations Headquarters on Monday and Tuesday, 22 and 23 September, to address the General Assembly and confer with Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

At 12:42 p.m. on Monday, 22 September, the President and his party will arrive at the Delegates Entrance, where he will be received by the Secretary- General. He will then be escorted to the West Foyer to join other heads of State and government at a luncheon hosted in their honour by the Secretrary- General. Accompanied by the Secretary-General, they will then proceed to the North Lounge.

Following the luncheon, which is to end at 2:50 p.m., the President will leave Headquarters by the Delegates Entrance.

At 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday, 23 September, the President and his party will return to Headquarters, arriving at the Delegates Entrance. He will be escorted to Room GA-200 and then to the General Assembly Hall to deliver his address.

Following his speech President Wasmosy, accompanied by the President of the Assembly and the Secretary-General, will proceed to Room GA-200, where he will take leave of the Assembly President. At 3:30p.m., the President will confer with the Secretary-General in his office, in Room GA-200. He will then leave Headquarters by the Delegates Entrance.
