NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS PRIME MINISTER OF FIJI TO VISIT HEADQUARTERS ON 22 SEPTEMBER

The Prime Minister of Fiji, Major-General Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka, will visit United Nations Headquarters on Monday, 22 September, to address the General Assembly and confer with Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

The Prime Minister and his party will arrive at the Delegates Entrance at 9:45 a.m. He will be escorted to his seat at his delegation in the General Assembly Hall, where he will listen to statements. He will then be escorted to Room GA-200.

The Prime Minister will then be escorted into the General Assembly Hall to make his address. Following the address, at approximately 12 p.m., he will confer with the Secretary-General in Mr. Annan's office in Room GA-200.

At 1 p.m., the Prime Minister will proceed to the West Foyer to join the other heads of State and government who will attend the luncheon hosted by the Secretary-General in their honour. Accompanied by the Secretary-General, they will then proceed to the North Lounge.

Following the luncheon, which is to conclude at 2:50 p.m., the Prime Minister will leave Headquarters by the Delegates Entrance.
