NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATES TO VISIT HEADQUARTERS

President William Clinton of the United States will visit Headquarters on Monday, 22 September, to address the General Assembly and confer with Secretary-General Kofi Annan and with Assembly President Hennadiy Udovenko (Ukraine).

President Clinton and his party will arrive at the Delegates Entrance at 9:25 a.m., where he will be received by Secretary-General Kofi Annan. The President will be escorted by the Secretary-General to his office in Room GA- 200. After conferring with the Secretary-General, President Clinton will pay a courtesy call to the President of the General Assembly. The President will then retire to a private office.

At 10:40 a.m., the President will address the Assembly.

At the end of the address, President Clinton, accompanied by the President of the General Assembly and the Secretary-General, will proceed to Room GA-200, where they will take leave of him. He will leave Headquarters by the Delegates Entrance.

The president will later attend the luncheon to be hosted by the Secretary-General at 1:15 p.m. in the North Lounge in honour of the Heads of State and Government attending the fifty-second session of the General Assembly.
