UNITED STATES FIRST LADY HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON TO VISIT HEADQUARTERS ON 10 DECEMBER

The First Lady of the United States, Hillary Rodham Clinton, will visit Headquarters on Wednesday, 10 December, Human Rights Day, to address a special programme to launch the fiftieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the first of two keynote speakers.

The First Lady and her party will arrive at the Delegates Entrance at 9:50 a.m., where she will be received by the Chief of Protocol. Mrs. Clinton will then be escorted to room GA-200, where she will confer with the President of the General Assembly, Hennadiy Udovenko (Ukraine).

Escorted by the Chief of Protocol, Mrs. Clinton will then proceed to the North Lounge and enter the Economic and Social Council Chamber to attend the Human Rights Day programme. After delivering the first keynote address, she will return to her seat to hear the second address and the reading of a message from United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson.

Mrs. Clinton will then leave the Council Chamber and proceed to the first floor, where she will leave Headquarters by the Delegates Entrance.
