CORRECTION
Owing to a technical error, a word was omitted from the noon briefing notes for 7 August. The first two sentences of the second paragraph -- which concerns the crash of a helicopter of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) near the village of At Tiri in south Lebanon -- should read as follows:
Mr. Eckhard said investigations into the cause of the crash were continuing today. So far, the United Nations had no reason to believe that the cause of the crash was suspicious.
