PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN TO VISIT HEADQUARTERS ON MONDAY, 28 JULY

President Heydar Alirza Ogly Aliyev of Azerbaijan will visit Headquarters on Monday, 28 July, and Tuesday, 29 July.

On 28 July, President Aliyev and his party will arrive at the Delegates' Entrance at 11:45 a.m., where he will be received by the Chief of Protocol. He will proceed, escorted by the Chief of Protocol, to the thirty-fourth floor office of the Under-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs and United Nations Legal Counsel, Hans Corell, to sign the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT).

At 12 p.m., the President will proceed by special elevator to the thirty- eighth floor, where he will meet with the Secretary-General in a conference room adjacent to the latter's office. After the meeting, President Aliyev, accompanied by the Secretary-General, will head for the elevators, where the Secretary-General will bid him farewell.

Following that, at 12:30 p.m., the President, escorted by the Chief of Protocol, will take a guided tour of the second floor of United Nations Headquarters. After that, at 1 p.m., he will go to Delegates' Dining Room Number 4 for a private luncheon.

Then, at 2:45 p.m., President Aliyev will hold a press conference in room S-226. Thereafter, he will proceed, at 3:30 p.m., to Conference Room 7 for an informal meeting with Security Council members. He will leave Headquarters by the Delegates' Entrance.

On Tuesday, 29 July, President Aliyev will arrive at 11 a.m. at the Delegates' Entrance and will proceed to the Trusteeship Council Chamber for a meeting with Permanent Representatives accredited to the United Nations. From there, he will head, at 12:15 p.m., to Delegates' Dining Room Number 1 for a private luncheon. After that, he will leave Headquarters by the Delegates' Entrance.
