NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN DECEMBER

19961129 In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following new Chairmen of United Nations security bodies will take office on 1 December:

Security Council

Francesco Paolo Fulci (Italy) succeeds Nugroho Wisnumurti (Indonesia) as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Rear Admiral David Anthony James Blackburn (United Kingdom) succeeds Major-General Valery Nikitovich Demin (Russian Federation) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
