NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS PRESIDENT OF CAMEROON, CURRENT CHAIRMAN OF OAU, TO VISIT HEADQUARTERS ON 23 OCTOBER

President Paul Biya of Cameroon, the current Chairman of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), will visit Headquarters tomorrow, 23 October and on Thursday, 24 October.

On 23 October, President Biya and his party will arrive at the Secretariat Entrance at 12:25 p.m. where he will be received by Secretary- General Boutros Boutros-Ghali. The President will then proceed to the 38th floor, where he will confer with the Secretary-General.

After the meeting, President Biya will proceed to the 2nd floor for a meeting with the President of the General Assembly in Room C-204. At about 1 p.m. he will confer with the Assembly President. President Biya will then leave Headquarters by the Delegates' Entrance.

On Thursday, 24 October, President Biya will arrive at the Delegates' Entrance at 12:50 p.m. where he will be received by the Chief of Protocol. He will then proceed to the 2nd floor and join Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh in the West Foyer before the luncheon hosted by the Secretary- General in their honour. Accompanied by the Secretary-General and escorted by the Chief of Protocol, President Biya and Prime Minister Hasina will proceed to the 4th floor and to the Delegates' Dining Room, where luncheon will be served.

At approximately 2:20 p.m., President Biya will proceed to the 2nd floor and to the West Foyer. At 2.58 p.m., he will proceed to Room GA-200. At the invitation of the President of the General Assembly, President Biya will enter the General Assembly Hall and be seated in the heads of State chair. He will then address the General Assembly.

After his speech, President Biya, accompanied by the President of the Assembly and the Secretary-General will proceed to Room GA-200. He will then proceed to a meeting of the African Group.
