NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS PRIME MINISTER OF BANGLADESH TO VISIT HEADQUARTERS 24 OCTOBER

The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, will visit Headquarters on Thursday, 24 October to meet with Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali and to address the General Assembly.

The Prime Minister will arrive with the members of her party at the Secretariat Entrance at 11:55 a.m. Escorted by the Chief of Protocol, she will proceed to the 38th floor where she will confer with the Secretary- General at noon.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., the Prime Minister will proceed to the West Foyer on the 2nd floor. The Prime Minister and President Paul Biya of Cameroon, accompanied by the Secretary-General, will then proceed to the 4th floor and to the Delegates' Dining Room, where luncheon will be served in their honour.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the Prime Minister will proceed to the 2nd floor and to the West Foyer to await the time of her address to the General Assembly. At about 3:30 p.m., the Prime Minister will proceed to room GA-200, and at the invitation of the Assembly President, will address the Assembly plenary. After her statement, she will proceed to room S-3427 to sign the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT). The Prime Minister will then depart Headquarters at the Secretariat Entrance.
