19961002 In Press Release GA/L/3005 of 30 September, the last paragraph on page 5 should be replaced by the following:

ROSEMARY N. EKEMEZIE (Nigeria) said the current situation with respect to third States affected by sanctions was inadequate. A more permanent mechanism was needed to deal with the matter. The aim of sanctions was to modify the behaviour of the targeted countries.
