NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN AUGUST

19960731 In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following new Chairmen of United Nations security bodies will take office on 1 August:

Security Council

Tono Eitel (Germany) succeeds Alain Dejammet (France) as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Lieutenant-General Wesley Kanne Clark (United States) succeeds Rear Admiral David A.J. Blackburn (United Kingdom) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
