NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN MARCH

19960229 In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following new Chairmen of United Nations security bodies will take office on 1 March:

SECURITY COUNCIL

Legwaila Joseph Legwaila (Botswana) will succeed Madeleine K. Albright (United States) as President of the Security Council.

MILITARY STAFF COMMITTEE

Lieutenant General Wesley Kanne Clark (United States) will succeed Rear Admiral David Anthony James Blackburn (United Kingdom) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
