YUGOSLAV SANCTIONS COMMITTEE BEGAN REVIEWING ITS GUIDELINES

19951128 Following is the text of the statement issued today by Emilio J. Cardenas (Argentina), Chairman of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 724 (1991) concerning Yugoslavia, on behalf of the Committee members:

At its 135th meeting held on Monday, 27 November, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 724 (1991) concerning Yugoslavia began a review of the Committee's guidelines for the conduct of its work, as requested by the Council in resolutions 1021 (1995) and 1022 (1995).

Members were in agreement about the need for swift action, so as to ensure the full implementation of the above resolutions.
