SECRETARY-GENERAL CONTINUES VISIT TO CANADA

19951122 At 9:45 a.m., Thursday, 23 November, Secretary-General Boutros Boutros- Ghali is due to meet jointly with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Andre Ouellet, and the Minister of National Defence and Veteran Affairs, David Michael Collenette. This meeting will be followed by a round-table discussion chaired by the Foreign Minister and attended by the Deputy Defence Minister, Louise Frechette, the Deputy Foreign Minister, Gordon Smith, the Permanent Representative of Canada to the United Nations, Robert Fowler, and other senior officials in the foreign and defence ministries.

At 11 a.m. the Secretary-General is expected to hold talks with Prime Minister Jean Chretien. At 12:30 p.m. the Secretary-General will be the guest of honour at a luncheon hosted by the Prime Minister.

The Secretary-General is expected to return to New York later in the afternoon.
