SECRETARY-GENERAL'S MESSAGE TO WILLY CLAES, SECRETARY-GENERAL OF NATO
19951020 Following is the text of a message sent today by Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali to Willy Claes, Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization:"Dear Mr. Secretary General
"I have learned with great regret of your resignation from the position of Secretary General of NATO.
"I would like to express my deep gratitude to you for your invaluable help during trying times. Your leadership has been critical in the search for peace in the former Yugoslavia. You have expanded and strengthened the partnership between the united nations and NATO. You have given staunch support to the ideals of peace, democracy and development we both serve.
"I offer you my most sincere thanks for all that you have done, and my best wishes for the future."
